Hiking Trails
Description
Trail tourism is a growing global trend, offering visitors the possibility to discover and experience places at their own rhythm, minimizing the negative impact on the environment. Lebanon has too much potential to offer under this chapter. All the civilizations that visited our place left traces of commercial, military, and religious routes. Many of these routes and paths are used today as recreational attractions for hikers and trekkers to discover the cultural and wild side of the country.
Ras Baalbeck has too many to offer under trail tourism. Geographically it has two mountain chains: the Western and the Eastern known as the Anti Lebanon Mountain range separating the Lebanon to Syria and an extension of the plain of the Beqaa Valley. The western mountain range is known for its richness in juniper trees whereas the Eastern mountain range is more arid and one can enjoy the dimensions and scales of this topography. Ras Baalbeck is also part of Boukaat Loubnan Trails a long distance trail across the mountains of the Bekaa Valley starting in Deir el Ahmar village through the Anti Lebanon Mountain range all the way and ending in the Mount Hermon.
