Ras Baalbeck Fekeh Trail

This trail falls under trail tourism given that it consists of a moderate level hike that starts from the Lady of Ras Baalbek monastery going in the direction of Sayl Ras Baalbek, going above the quarry till tallet el Salib. From there the trail follows a steep dirt road going to the east reaching an ancient paved road leading to the highland of Fekeh. From that point, a scenic view overlooking the Anti Lebanon Mountain range consists a highlight of the trail. From this viewpoint the trail goes down to the Sayl of Fekeh climbing towards Wade and reaching Jabal Merched all the way through Sehta valley. The hike ends in Fekeh.

يقع هذا الدرب ضمن خانة سياحة التجوال كونه يتضمّن جولة مشياً على الأقدام معتدلة الصعوبة، تبدأ من دير سيدة رأس بعلبك باتجاه سيل رأس بعلبك فوق مقلع تلّة الصليب. من هذه التلة يُكمل الدرب صعوداً على طريق ترابية قاسية الارتفاع باتجاه الشرق وصولاُ إلى طريق قديمة معبّدة تؤدّي إلى جرود الفكة. من هذه النقطة، يُمكن التمتع بمنظر خلاب يطل على سلسلة جبال لبنان الشرقية. انطلاقاً من هذه النقطة، يُكمل الدرب نزولاً إلى سيل الفكة ومن ثمّ صعوداً باتجاه جبل مرشد ووصولاً إلى وادي ستا. ينتهي الدرب في الفكة.

We recommend walking this hiking trail in Spring and Autumn. It is best to avoid walking in summer as the mountains are arid and temperatures can reach really high degrees. Winter can be a good season for this hike since rain is not abundant, however wind can be strong and temperatures can reach low degrees, so having the right equipment and clothes is recommended.

Ras Baalbeck Fekeh Trail can be connected with the Mar Koulia trail, for a longer hike.

يُنصح بالتجوّل على هذا الدرب خلال الخريف والربيع ويُفضّل تجنّب فصل الصيف لأن الطبيعة جرداء وقد تصل درجات الحرارة إلى مستويات عالية جداً. ويُعتبر فصل الشتاء مناسباً أيضاً للمشي على هذا الدرب لأن كمية الأمطار في هذه المنطقة قليلة ولكن الرياح قد تكون قاسية ودرجات الحرارة منخفضة، فيُنصح بلباس مناسب للبرد ومعدات ملائمة.

يُمكن مزج درب رأس بعلبك الفكة بدرب مار كوليا، لجولة أطول.

This trail offers a viewpoint over the Bekaa Valley, the Western Mountain range, Dahr el Qadib, and lake Qatine in Syria. It is part of the Anti Lebanon range and an ancient road known as Sekkeh built by the British army that used to connect the Anti Lebanon Range to Syria.

يُقدم هذا الدرب منظراً مُطلاً على سهل البقاع، سلسلة جبال لبنان الغربية، ضهر القضيب وبحيرة قطين في سوريا. هو جزء من سلسلة جبال لبنان الشرقية ومن طريق قديمة عُرفت بالسكة، بناها الجيش البريطاني وتصل سلسلة الجبال الشرقية بسوريا.
