Description

This type of bread is part of Ras Baalbek’s heritage and it is spread all over Lebanese regions since the 18th and 19th centuries. The tannour oven is made of mud and next to its opening there is a space for women to prepare the dough before putting it inside the oven. Half an hour before using it, the coal is lit to heat the oven’s walls where the dough is put before transforming into hot bread.
